Review: J'adore Make Up For Ever Lipsticks!

I have significantly delayed a visit to Sephora for a while now. I recently went a few weeks ago and was blown away by the new MUFE Rouge Artist Intense Lipsticks.

I noticed the price increase with the Mac LE products and I was just so stunned and thought might as well purchase something more in value like MUFE products. They tend to be more pigmented, long lasting and intense in colours. I'm quite impressed with their entire product line. I think I have become a MUFE convert! lol Yes, you heard me right!

I bought three lipsticks on this Sephora trip thinking I should save up for IMATS. Hopefully, IMATS will carry MUFE products which are usually 40% off there. I hope the new lipsticks are there this time so I can splurge on some more.
Each lipstick is $22 CDN / $19 USD at Sephora

There are about 50 shades in their new lipstick line.
The colour selection is amazing from brights, nudes, neutrals and deep/dark shades.
They have all colours including black lipstick.

Three Finishes: Matte, Satin & Pearly

I would've gotten lipsticks in matte formula but the Sephora location I went to did not carry all the matte colours and only had the satin and pearly formulas.

The Boxes:
The Sleek Packaging:
The Pretty Babies:
# 9, # 21, # 39

# 9: Pearly Fuschia
To be honest, I may have many hot pink lipsticks but they do not compare to this lipstick formula at all. It's hard to capture the pearly finish of these in photos so please do swatch them in person and you will know what I'm talking about. These are pearly and has very finely milled glitters/sparkles in it. It's not glittery/chunky like Mac's Dazzle lipsticks at all though....which is why I never liked that Mac collection. The colour pay off is super intense and very long lasting. I was so impressed with the staying power. This formula glides on very well and it's not over drying.

Swatch Comparisons:

# 21: Pearly Bright Red
Just like # 9.....this red lipstick is nothing like something I own. It also contains finely milled glitter/sparkles. I just love how it looks on the lips with the pearly finish. It is also creamy and super intense. Again, swatch these babies when you're at Sephora again. It's a great addition to my red lipsticks. Trust me on this....this red formula is totally different and unique and I bet you don't have anything like this....FOR REAL! haha

Swatch Comparisons:

# 39: Satin Orange Coral
This  satin formula can be a bit drying to some people but it feels fine on me. It's not too drying unlike the MUFE aqua cream colours on the lips. It's super pigmented and very creamy like formula. The coral colour probably seems like a colour that I most likely have but I do not have it at this intensity or pigmentation. I like how the orange is actually balanced well with the coral shade. Since, I do have a thing for corals...I could not resist this colour either. =)

Swatch Comparisons:

Pro:
-Heavily pigmented with long lasting power
-Formula glides on well...smooth and creamy
-Three different finishes: Matte, Pearly, Satin
-Excellent colour choices (light, neutral, nudes, bright, and dark)
-Ability to mix funky colours together easily

Con:
- The price? However, this is a high end brand.....it's obviously expensive.
- Some may not like the scent...but it doesn't bother me..it's WAY BETTER than Nars lippie's scent!

Overall Rating:5/5

Overall Thoughts: I am quite impressed with these lipsticks. I think these are now my favourite brand lipsticks ever. If you think Mac lipsticks are the best....well...these can even be better. Just pay a lil more and you will get more intensity/staying power. Although, I still love my Mac (matte) lipsticks...these probably top them next. I'm glad that the pearly finishes do not contain chunky glitters that would just be so irritating. These lipsticks are super intense and bright and you can pick from a variety of colours. I feel that they are quite long lasting because of their rich pigmentation. Overall, these lipsticks lasted 4-5 hours on me at least and it stayed on pretty well even through eating/drinking. The smell of these are fine but I think Mac's vanilla lipstick scent is better. I'm glad these don't have a funky smell like Nars lippies. (I still love their matte velvet pencils though).

Have you guys checked out these new lipsticks yet?

A Collective Mac Haul (Finally!)

It's been ages since I posted any hauls since my make-up shopping has been less frequent these days.  So now, I am ready to post a collective Mac haul finally. =)
Here we go....

This is back from July when I bought In the Groove Collection products.
Stereo Rose MSF: Just like everyone else...I just had to get this MSF. It's a gorgeous coral rosy shade. It came out as  limited edition in a past collection and it's now been re promoted in this collection. Everyone practically ran for this product! I'm glad this isn't like the other MSFs where it's chunky with glitter. I actually like the formula of this one.
Band of Roses Mineralize Blush: This was just an impulse buy. I could've lived without it for sure. lol It's a pretty pink raspberry shade. It's quite similar to Dollymix blush which I don't have...so it made it more tempting for me to get.

I Like It Like That Lipstick: This shade is more of a pink lavender colour. Reminds me of a lighter version of OPI's Lucky Lucky Lavender nailpolish. This lipstick is in cremesheen formula LE and goes on quite well. I have to use a neutral/darker lipliner because of my pigmented lips. In the swatch below...I do not have any lipliner on though. I wished it didn't appear so light in the pictures but with the lipliners...it is much more wearable.
I was able to b2m for two lipsticks. I got Creme Cup lipstick (finally!) after all the raves on it.....I gave in. It's a pretty light pink shade in cremesheen formula. This is another lipstick I would prefer using a lipliner along with it since it can appear too light because of my darker skintone. I also got a replacement of Pink Plaid lipstick. I'm happy to say that I have finished my first tube of Pink Plaid and I'm glad to buy a second one. It's a cool neutral pink shade in matte formula. It can be drying so it's always best to use moisturizer before applying it.  I guess I would also recommend using a lipliner since it can sometimes appear chalky on darker skintones.

The Swatches
I Like It Like That, Creme Cup, Pink Plaid
(Sorry for the messy swatches)
Soar Lipliner Pencil: A neutral pink lipliner which goes well with many nude pink lipsticks.
Beet Lipliner Pencil: A deep raspberry pink shade which looks gorgeous with pinks and red lipsticks. I'm really glad I got this shade. It's something I don't have at all.
This is Beet Lipliner with Rebel Lipstick. It's a hot colour for the fall. Do try this combo out!

From the Feline Collection....I was attracted by this black liquid black eyeliner. It's the Superslick Liquid Eyeliner - On the Hunt. I noticed that Mac Fluidline and the other Mac Liquid liner melted off during the summer on me.

This held up pretty well during the hot days. So far so good!

Mac recently came out with a Pro LongWear collection which is permanent. It consists of pro longwear foundation, concealer and lipsticks.

Love Forever Prolongwear Lipstick: This is a permanent fuchsia pink lipstick and I was not able to b2m for it unfortunately.Although, I did try but got rejected. Boo! So this colour isn't that unique but it's a colour I love wearing and I do dig! It's a darker version of Mac Pink Nouveau lipstick. I like the formula as it is in between a satin and amplified finish. It is long lasting as well. The other colours in this line were also pretty but nothing seemed like a must have and since these are permanent...I can try to get them later.
Swatch Comparisons:
Love Forever & Pink Nouveau
I also got the Pro Longwear Foundation but in NW 35. These shades run a lil lighter than the normal shades that Mac carries. NC 42 seemed light in many spots on my face while the next shade was NC 45 felt seemed too dark for me as well. There was no shade in between....no NC 43. =(  The MUA recommended NW 35 and it's actually not bad. It has warm tones in it as well while it being not too yellow. I will review this foundation very soon.
  ======================================================
I checked out the Mac Disney Villain collection and I wasn't too impressed. Many of the colours seemed dupable and I had to pass on them. I did like the two mineralize eyeshadows though. They looked gorgeous but for some reason I think I can try to dupe these colours with the eyeshadows I already have. Check out the product swatches on Specktra.(Do sign up on Spectra.net - It's an awesome site for us!)

I also want to save up money for the IMATS. I might go this year. It will be on November 6 & 7 at the Toronto Congress Centre. Click here to buy tickets! If I do go...I will only go on Saturday November 6, 2010.

After the success of the local blogger meet-up....I would love to meet-up with y'll gorgeous ladies again! Let me know if anyone has plans to go. We shall all meetup. =)
