April 2010 Favourites!

I'm way late for this post but I actually forgot about posting it....lol

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have at least 90% of my tutorial videos posted on my  blog. Thank you to some wonderful people who helped me post these videos. I would like to give a big thanks to Diana, Sisa, and Consuela.

I don't have too many favourites this month and I don't want to be so repetitive with my regular products so I'm trying to use different products throughout.

1. Mac Malibu Peach Nailpolish: A gorgeous coral peach nailpolish. I love the formula and opacity! Although this was limited edition.....I'm sure there are other brands that have similar colours.

2. The Body Shop Vitamin E Night Cream: I got this during a 50% off sale @ TBS. It's quite moisturizing and I love the smell. The smell reminds me of Olay products.

3.MUFE HD #6 Cream Blush: The coral pink colour is GORGEOUS! The lasting power is amazing and it gives you that perfect peachy glow for the summer.

4.Mac Refined Golden Bronzer: I mostly use this product to contour when I don't have Mac Blunt blush. Many countries do not sell Blunt Blush and I suppose this would work great as an alternative to contour. The only drawback is that it has shimmer which many do not like. Then I would suggest matte brown eyeshadows like Saddle to contour the face.

That's all for now! =)

Mac - To The Beach Collection (Mini Haul)

I was near the Mac pro store downtown yesterday where they had the To The Beach Collection out already. The official US/CDN release date is next week but it's always fun to buy things earlier...although I didn't go crazy with this collection. Many of the products in this collection were repromoted, dupable or it was already from the permanent collection. As always...the packaging had cute green and orange colours with a beach summer shell theme.

The collection includes these products...

  • Sand & Sun – Light Peach (Matte) < dupable with Tete e Tint  Eyeshadow or Samoa Silk Eyeshadow

Highlight Powder $26.00 U.S. / $32.00 CDN
  • Marine Life – Multicolour Pressed Powder < this was pretty just to look at but it has an overspray which is annoying and I have too many coral blushes so didn't bother getting it....

  • In the Buff – Muted Taupe Avocado (Cream)
  • Scorcher – Creamy Bright Coral Red (Cream) < a pretty red coral shade but it is dupable

I got myself two items.....

Firecracker Eyeshadow

Firecracker Eyeshadow: A gorgeous velvety smooth red-orange colour. I do not own any eyeshadow colour similar to this at all. I thought from the description that it would be similar to Firespot (LE) eyeshadow but it's nothing a like. However, it is similar to colours like Hot, Hot, Hot (LE) and Red Brick (Pro) eyeshadow. I can't wait to do a look with this shadow...definitely going to post a fotd soon.

Swatches:

Firecracker, Expensive Pink

In the Buff  Nailpolish

I guess this was more of an impulse buy since I've been nailpolish shopping quite a lot these days.

In The Buff Nailpolish: A khaki brown taupe shade. It's neutral and office friendly.  The quality of this nailpolish is pretty good and streak-free and it only needed two coats.

Here's what I  already have and "dupes" from the To The Beach Collection....

Swatch Comparisons:

Mac Hipness Blush, Make Up For Ever # 6 HD Cream Blush

These coral pink shades are VERY SIMILAR to me and are actual dupes. You  do not need both of these blushes. If I had to choose one of them...I would definitely get the MUFE version since it has more long lasting power.

Did you guys get anything from this collection yet or have plans?
I know they released this collection in Europe already.
