A few weeks ago my cousin got married in Ottawa. I attended the magical wedding which she had planned for a very long time. It truly was amazing. I'm really happy for her.

So this was a Bengali Muslim wedding.
I went there on a Friday and I had arrived very late for the Holud (Haldi - Turmeric) Event and so I couldn't take that many pictures. I didn't even bother taking pictures of myself that day since I didn't really dress up much.
They have a beautiful house and they held the event program in their own back yard. They had arranged canopy tents for the guests and had a stage. The small canopies had food, fresh jelapis being cooked, sweets and a drink bar.

Now this is the traditional custom "Gate Dhora" where the brides side (younger relatives/friends) does not allow the groom to enter without giving a good amount of money. They initially asked for $10 K (i know crazy...lol)...but that didn't go too well... then negotiated to a smaller sum and made a final agreement. It did take them a while to agree on something though. Haha!
