Mac's Love the Look - FOTD

Mac's new Love the Look collection consists of 12 Starflash finish eyeshadows and 4 pearl glide eyeliners and some of the colours are actually repromoted(from last year) along with some new additional colours too. (Check out Temptalia's website for more info).

I ended up with getting only ONE eyeshadow this time around. I might wait for the others to hit the CCOs since I wasn't too intrigued by the colours. I got myself Rated R eyeshadow which is similar to Bitter, Overgrown and the lime green shade from Nar's Rated R duo eyeshadow. (I wonder why Mac copied their product name? =S) Apart from all the other similar dupes, I really love Mac's Rated R eyeshadow...it's just so pretty and I love the sheen of it. The texture is just so unique. I would just call it a shiny lime shade with a hint of yellow in it. It's just too gorgeous to pass and so I had to get it. *drool*


I also had some of the repromotes from last year so I didn't bother getting any backups either since I know I'll never finish these. I'm glad Smokes N Diamond eyeshadow was repromoted since many people had missed out from last year and they also ended up paying big bucks on Ebay and from other online shops.

Rant: I really hate the texture of Mac's Dreammaker eyeshadow. Why is it even being repromoted? I know it's a starflash finish and it's suppose to be silky, smooth in texture but I wonder how Mac went wrong with this one. It's great as a highlight but the texture is so powdery and seems like a lustre when applied on the lid. I had so much fallout too. =S Honestly, I love the colour but the texture is so horrible. It totally grinds my gears! *Family Guy Moment* =p

I was inspired by the facechart called Fashion Groupie. This is just a rendition. I didn't make it exactly the same, instead I applied a purple shade to the outer lid/crease area.

Annabelle Kohl Eyeliners & Lipliner Swatches

Annabelle (Canadian drugstore brand) has some of my favourite eyeliner/lipliners. They go on creamy with great pigmentation and they cost quite reasonable too. Here are some of the eyeliners and lipliners I have.....(no...I never got these for free like some people did...I
actually bought these)

Kohl Eyeliner PencilsThese eyeliners can easily be used as eyeshadow bases on top of a good eye primer.

The Swatches:
Royal Marine, Lapis, Fiesta, Indigo, Lotus, Black, Coffe, Curacao

Lipliner Pencils
The Swatches:
Mars, Cherry, Sparkle, Hot Honey, Demure, Blush, Natural Rose, Spice, Desert Dune, Dew Rosee

I love all the colours that I have. Although I don't have any of their hot pinks (I prefer NYX hot pink lipliners) and I dont know if they make any either.
I like pairing Mars lipliner when I use Mac Lady Danger lipstick.
Also, I love using Cherry lipliner with any of my red lipsticks.
My most used lipliner is Demure and I use it almost with all lipsticks. It's a great neutral colour.

I also love colouring in my entire lips with a lipliner and applying a sheer gloss on top. Make sure your lips are moisturized so it doesn't feel overdrying.

NYX has good lipliners as well but it's too bad, they are not available everywhere in Canada except in selected Rexall Pharmacy shops.

DazzleGlass Creme Fall '09 (A Preview)

I was able to get three Mac Dazzleglass Creme glosses (marked as samples) and wanted to share some pictures with you guys. This collection consists of nine gorgeous shades and will be released this fall. (September 24, '09)

Soft Dazzle - Mid-tone peach pink with gold pearl
Sublime Shine - Light coral brown with gold pearl
My Favourite Pink - Light blue pink with pearl
Perfectly Unordinary - Bright yellow pink with gold pearl
Luscious Spark - Light orange with gold pearl

Some Thoughts:
I thought these would be more pigmented than dazzleglasses but unfortunately, these appear quite sheer on pigmented lips like mines. The texture does feel creamy and reminds me of lustreglasses and these are NOT sticky like dazzleglasses at all. I think I'll get a couple of more of these gorgeous glosses when it comes out in the Fall.

Do It Up, Sublime Shine, Luscious Spark

Swatch Comparisons:

* Smile looks similar to Sublime Shine but Smile has more pink in it.
* Love Nectar listreglass also seems similar but with more frost.


* Do It Up seems similar to Flashmode lustreglass when worn on lips.
I know these lip swatches do not look so great. I have pigmented lips and they look very sheer on me. I guess I would have to wear them on top of lipsticks.

Do It Up showed up with the most colour on my pigmented lips. I guess this can be worn alone.

I know this looks gross alone on my pigmented lips. Hopefully, it looks better on top of a lipstick. lol

This is quite orangey but doesn't seem as orange looking in person. It should look good paired with peachy shades.

* I'm still thinking of getting Amorous...it seems like a real pretty ruby red colour.
Also, another pink gloss and Creme Allure to add to my lavender lippie collection.

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Lipstick Haul!

I was really bummed out since I had to return those two Mac mineralize blushes friom my previous haul.

So I splurged for YSL lipsticks yesterday. I have been wanting these for a very long time now and I finally got them! You can only get them at The Bay downtown (Eatons) and at any Holtrenfew store. Also, I'm not too sure if the Sephora stores in Canada carry them.

These babies are amazing. There are many pretty colours to choose from. They are literally silk to my lips and are incredibly CREAMY! They just glide on like butter. WOW! I have never felt this kind of texture before and I thought Mac Cremesheen lipsticks were very creamy. lol You just cannot compare these at all. I love the sweet mango-ish scent that it has. I love the packaging as well....it's just SO ELEGANT! It also has a little mirror on the top of the lipstick lid. It's just AMAZING! I love these lipsticks and I will cherish them forever! ;)

# 8 Fetish Pink
 A gorgeous blue based pink and I do see a hint of lilac undertone in it. It does look like a barbie pink colour but it's toned down and wearable as you can easily build the intensity.

# 13 Peach Passion
A gorgeous coral peachy shade. This colour seems very unique and it's just LOVE! If I had to choose what's my favourite of all the YSL shades...I would definitely pick this one.

Comparison Swatches
It's similar to Mac's Pink Nouvea lipstick but more wearable and not as bold.

I'm pretty much lemming for 1-2 more YSL lipsticks. I love all the colours. I'm lemming for #1...I should ask the SO for a couple of more lippies! lol

OH yeh...I also got Nars Chihuahua lipgloss. This is a very pretty neutral nude pink colour. It's more wearable than Turkish Delight and safer for my skintone. lol It looks gorgeous on top of nude lippies!
