I Coloured My Hair Again!

(I know my hair looks crazy.....I used my fingers to scrunch up some mousse in my hair in these pics...)

(Note: The camera picked up a lighter colour because of the flash but in person its VERY DARK)

My roots were showing a lot and so I had to colour it again. I went much darker this time...it's basically the same thing but WAY DARKER!

Red/violet mixed base colour with very thin blonde partial highlights that were VERY toned down! That's my favourite hair combination. I would have preferred it to be a bit lighter though...maybe I'll get my bright highlights back in the summer again. I miss them already. :(

I might get a haircut soon...probably just a trim. I'm trying to grow my hair LONG!! :D

My Lush Haul

After seeing so many good reviews on LUSH (fresh handmade soaps and cosmetics with natural ingredients) on Youtube, I just had to get a couple of their items. :)

The price of these soaps depends on the weight. So if you just want a tiny chunk then they would cut it up for you and weight it accordingly....like how it is at "bulk style" stores.

I know this looks weird! LOL Like a ROCK! It's really a cleanser soap called Coalface Cleanser. It's pretty raved about and it's meant for oily skin. I have normal/combination skin. I mostly get oily around the Tzone and nose area and then dry all around. So I just took t his one. The sales lady did recommend me other ones for combination but I read from reviews that other soaps leaves your skin greasy. :S

So before I slept yesterday I started my skincare routine with this product. I really hate the smell of this. It's really a gross smell when you sniff the soap directly.....so I guess I'll just lather it in my hands first and then put it on my face. It's not that bad once you get used to the smell, it's milder when applied with fingers and it does remove dirt well.

This is the Tea Tree Water Toner.
(Tea tree and grapefruit detoxifying facial spritzer)
This is what I used second and it's not bad. It took away any left over dirt and oily from my face.

This was the last thing I put on. It's the Imperialis Moisturizer.
This is to moisturize, condition ad tone combination skin. It made my skin feel soft and moisturized. Although, in the morning my face felt a bit oily. I guess I'll just use it as a night cream instead of under makeup. It might be too greasy under makeup who knos...but I'll try that way as well.

This is called Mask of Magnaminty Cleanser. It's really a mask. I'll try this product out soon.

These were samples I had asked for.
Ocean Salt Cleanser : This is a scrub that's really raved about. I'll probably buy this after I'm doing using my mask.
Ultrabland Cleanser: The sales lady told me this is mostly used for removing makeup.

Let's see how these products work for me in the next 2-3 weeks. I might review on them too.

My Review: Nars Brightening Serum

NARS BRIGHTENING SERUM

Note: NC 42/43 Skintone

Does this really work?

Pro:
On a cold winter day, I start my day by applying a moisturizer and then the brightening serum. Then apply a primer and the rest of my make-up. It does brighten up my skin and leaves my skin glowing. It wakes up my dull skin and gives a opalescence sheen. It has a nice fresh scent with citrus in it. Hence, the main ingredient in most skin lightening products is citrus oil and many recommend citrus orange oil for brightening uneven skintones. This product also contains it.

During the summer, I would put on this serum alone because it works as a light moisturizer too. I have combination skin but I know this product works for all skin types. I felt very refreshed on those summer days with the serum on. I would simply put on concealer and some powder as my base makeup and then do the rest of my eye make-up. I love the fact that it doesn't clog up pores or feel greasy at all.

I love the packaging of this product. It's quite stylish and I love the pump function. It is very tightly sealed and compact as well so no air can enter. Therefore, it will last for a long time. It states that it will expire in 12 months so I guess I'm sure I can finish it in one year since you only need a tiny amount for your entire face and neck. A little goes a long way! I like the packaging so much, I dont think I will throw away the bottle when I'm done with it. :p YAY!

Con:
1. The price. It's quite expensive. About $61.oo USD. I bought it for $90.00CDN from Holt Renfrew (Canada).
2. People may find this product to be too liquidy.
3. The pink opalescence sheen. It has a tiny bit of sparkle in it and it may be annoying to people as well. Many tend to mix it with their moisturizer so the sparkles fade.

For a cheaper alternative, people can try products that contains citrus orange oil.

Overall Rating: 4/5
Price [Value]: 3/5
Packaging Quality: 5/5
Would I buy this product again? Maybe

THE VIDEO TO GO WITH IT....

My Hair Colour!

So everyone's been asking me about my hair colour....well...here's the story with my hair and how you can "try" to achieve the same colour! :D

So when I enter a salon...this is what I ask for:

Base Colour: Red and Violet Mixed
Highlights: Foil Thin Blonde Highlights which are toned down with a toner. This is good for my skintone complexion since chunky blonde streaks would not look too good. It would be too drastic and thin blondes will look more natural and would blend into your hair.

In the picture below you can see the highlights are only partial which is only at the top part of my head. The hair at the bottom is just one colour. (Red and Violet mixed)

This is what they exactly do at the salon. First they foil thin blonde highlights in my hair. This time they only did the top portion so it's called "partial highlights"...it's really your choice if you want to put highlights on your entire head. Who knos...I may get it next time...lol
So they left the foils in. Then they applied the base colour (red and violet mixed) entirely to the rest of my hair. Then wait for about 20 minutes. Later, with the foils still on....they would wash my entire hair to get the colour dye out first so that there is no bleeding into my foiled blonde hair. Then they would take off the foils and give it another wash. At this time, they would put the toner on my hair and leave it there for about 10 minutes. This will allow my blonde highlights be more toned down and not so drastic. Finally, they would give it a final wash and go off to blow dry and style my hair! :D

My hair is naturally wavy with layered haircut and so whatever wavy hair you see in my looks...it's simply by taking some curling cream or mouuse and scrunching it up with my fingers and letting it air dry.

Note: I have my hair blow dried straight in the pic below.

(Excuse the fobby pyjamas)

Hope this helped!
