Quick Eyes of the Day : Photo Realism Eyeshadow Quad

It is SOOOOO DAMN HOT in Toronto right now. The weather was pretty good in the past 2 months and I didn't mind it at all...I loved it!......then the REAL SUMMER WEATHER hit us BAD! It's been like this for over 2 weeks now and I'm getting tired of the heat! Especially with the humidity it's like 40 degrees celsius (104 F)....practically boiling in a I'm anxiously waiting for rain but no luck.....

I don't even bother with much makeup in this weather...I can just feel it melting's a gross feeling and my skin gets worse too....however, I managed to do an Eye of the Day look with the new Photo Realism Eyeshadow Quad....(requested by jennylevi).... I know there has been some rant on this quad on how it is dull on olive/darker skintones. This is actually true. When you wear the colours by itself with a neutral will definitely seem dull so I decided to use a black base when using this quad. It actually improves the appearance of the colour and appears more vibrant and has a blue-ish tint to it. I actually find the quad to be dupable if you're using it on a black can easily dupe Fresh Approach eyeshadow (light minty green) with Mood Ring, Warm Chill and Aquavert to achieve similar colours.

Mac Make-up Art Cosmetics Haul '09

Mac Make-up Art Cosmetics Fall collection is HUGE!
I got myself two products from this collection. The Mac Pro Store (downtown Toronto) released this collection early like always. I think the actual official release date is August 20, 2009.
Check out Temptalia's website for more details of this collection.

This fall collection has three eyeshadow quads out. I chose Photo Realism eyeshadow quad since it stood out the most and it had two veluxe pearls and I just can't get enough of that finish. It just glides on with a silky finish. I love all the four colours as well and none of the colours were repromoted. I also liked Skintone eyeshadow quad since it has such pretty neutral colours. I really liked Notoriety eyeshaodow in it which was like a peachy pink shade. JUST GORGEOUS! I might get it next time...not sure. The third quad is called Private Viewing. It has some pretty pink/purples in it but it had two matte colours and I'm just not a big fan of matte shadows unless it's for darkening the crease. So I passed on it. I didn't bother with any of the new lipglosses or lipsticks. They were just "meh" looking to me. I guess I already have colours similar to it. The new eyeliners looked cool too but I can easily use mixing medium to make vibrant liner colours. This collection also had many new/repromoted glitters and pigments. Nothing was really that unique to actually buy the pigment jar, instead I would just get sample pigments/glitters from this line.

*I forgot to include Humid eyeshadow*

Juxt, Aquavert, Mood Ring, Print, Clue, Photo Realism, Fresh Approach, Image Maker, Grey Range, Deep Blue-Green pigment, Henna

Grey Range eyeshadow and Deep Blue Green pigment seems pretty alike.

The new fall collection also has some single eyeshadows released. Some are new/ repromoted.

I chose Off the Page Eyeshadow (frost) since it was the most unique of them all. I couldn't find anything too similar in the perm collection to compare it with . However, it seems pretty similar to Fab and Flashy (LE) eyeshadow but more pigmented/vibrant. Fab and Flashy is very sheer when swatched and you would have to pack it on to show colour. Generally, I didn't like the texture of the new single eyeshadows but I loved Off the Page and wanted to add another orange eyeshadow to my collection.

My Orangey Eyeshadow Collection!

Off the Page, Firespot, Nars Mediteranee, Megarich pigment, Juiced

People said that Off the Page was similar to's so NOT TRUE!

Firespot is more reddish orange and it's much more intense. Another GORGEOUS UNIQUE SHADE! Why can't Mac make these colours perm? =(

Hmmm...I can just picture an eyeshadow combo right now...Off the Page (lid) + Plumdressing/Hepcat (crease) + Sketch (outer-v) + any pretty highlight = JUST GORGEOUS!

I guess if you just want ONE item from this collection...I would recommend
OFF THE PAGE eyeshadow!
I guess that's the end...hope this helps y'all out! ;)

Back-Up Tag!!!

I've been tagged by the lovely Sisa to show my cosmetic make-up backups. Most of the backups are limited edition products.

Solar White Eyeshadow (Cool Heat Collection) - This is my all time favourite highlight eyeshadow. I just find it so unique but then again, it can be similar to Vanilla pigment. I have it depotted since I needed an empty to B2M. lol

OtherWorldly Blush (MoonBathe Collection) - I'm glad I bought this blush/highlight when it first came out. There was only ONE left at the Mac Bay counter. I saw my favourite Mac MA (brown desi-skinned) wearing it and it just looked FAB on her along with Desert Rose blush. Then I got a US friend to buy me a backup from their CCO and later I discovered and bought 2-3 more from the Mac Warehouse Sale in Toronto (it was really cheap). I can NEVER get enough of this blush/highlight. The dupe for this is Mac's Trace Gold Blush.

Gladiola Lipstick (Dame Edna Collection) - This is my absolute favourite pink/magenta lipstick. I love the matte finish. I bought one during their release and then purchased another one off Ebay and then bought a few more at the Mac Warehouse Sale. I'm glad I have enough now....Too bad it's not perm. =( I actually have two of these open. I like keeping one in my bag and another one in my dressing table. I think dupes can be Girl About Town/Show Orchid lipstick.

Lavender Whip Lipstick (Cremesheen Collection) - This baby is a total must have. One of a KIND! Every girl should have this GORGEOUS lavender lippie. It's sad that it's not perm. =( I bought one during it's release and then bought another one from Mac online.

Lust Lipglass (Permanent) - This was my very first Mac lipgloss. A gorgeous nude mauve pink shade. I used to wear it everyday back in the days. I finished about three of these already and now I like keeping an extra one in my bag and one at home.

Magenta Lipliner (Permanent) - This magenta pink colour is one of a kind. I actually thought I lost my first Magenta lipliner and so I ended up buying another one and later I found the first original one so now I just have a backup. =)
