Love Heroine In My Life! - Mac Heroine Lipstick Review with FOTDs

Mac Heroine Lipstick just released last week in the Mac Reel Sexy Collection. I've been planning on  buying this lipstick for a while now and as I saw the swatches on Temptalia.com I knew right away that I had to have this lipstick in my life! I fell in love with the description of this lipstick instantly. First of all it was a matte finish and I sure do love matte finishes as you all may know.
Big Matte Lipstick Lover Here!
Although, this is considered a "matte" finish...it's still applies creamy, not over drying while feeling  moisturized.  I'm guessing Mac is trying to improve their matte lipsticks. Well, I'm glad they are!
Secondly, I love the purple magenta bold colour of this lipstick. I find it very unique and it's something I do not have at all.I've been looking for something like this for a while now.  I don't have  Mac Violetta lipstick either so I can't compare.

I am a person who always uses lip liners everytime I wear lipstick or lipgloss. I just feel incomplete without it.

Below, I experimented with Mac Grape Lipliner.....
Here, I experimented with Mac Magenta Lipliner....
It's a total different colour right?
It's really about what look you are trying to achieve and want to have. I'm more into the magenta pink tones though....

Pro:

-Matte while not being over drying (I see this as a good thing!)
-Unique bold colour
-Long Lasting
-Wearable in any season
-Can easily use lipliners to give this unique colour different tones

Con:
-It's limited edition. :( Get it while it's there!

Overall Rating: 5/5
It's an amazing lipstick!!! I love it!!!

In these pictures the lipstick appears like Mac Gladiola lipstick but it's really much more different with purple tones in it. Very unique!

Mac In Extra Dimension Haul!

I got three products from Mac In Extra Dimension Haul which released last week. It is consisting of three skin finish highlighters and ten eyeshadows and two blushes. Check out the Mac Website and Temptalia for more collection details and swatches.  These are limited edition!

Mac Superb Skinfinish Highighter
I really thought I would stop buying these MSFs as I have so many but I just had to give into this collection. I am very impressed with the pigmentation and staying power of these. The texture is just so finely milled and applies so smoothly. Superb is a light peachy champagne shimmer powder and it seems like it works well with all skintones. I like to apply these with a stippling brush so you can get a fresh glowing look!
Mac Superb Skinfinish
The surface of these are so cool looking!
Mac Glorify Skinfinish Highlighter
Glorify is a bronzy orange shimmer. It also has a very nice smooth texture when applied. I'm glad these do not have heavy chunky texture unlike some of the previous Mac MSFs which were total glitter bombs. I like to use a stippling blush and apply it with a light hand to get that golden glow.
Mac Glorify Skinfinish
Mac Modern Pewter Eyeshadow
This shade is literally a mix of silver and gold together with some underlying olive tones. The pigmentation and texture of this eyeshadow is really good. It reminds me of the smooth eyeshadows from the Peacocky Collection. This colour would work really well for a lid colour and can be worn during the day and transitional to the night.

The Swatches!

Overall Thoughts:
I feel that the star of the collection were the skinfinish highlighters. I would definitely get the third one which is called Whisper of Gilt.  If you are looking for a nice highlighter that gives you a gorgeous glow...I would suggest one of the these for sure. Again, the texture applies very smoothly and has great pigmentation and I love the staying power of these two. Highly recommend! Hurry before it's too late. These are limited edition!

Did you guys get any of these highlighters? If so, which one?

Mac Warehouse Sale Haul - March 2012

A few weeks ago...I was lucky to receive passes to go to the Mac Warehouse Sale. I wasn't too impressed with the lipstick/lipgloss selection at all or maybe I'm just trying to avoid lipglosses entirely? LOL I really did try my best to budget and I did not go overboard either. You guys might just be surprised with this small haul of mines. Sorry, I don't have any swatches for this post.

This was a good buy as these were only $4 each.
Mac Naked Lunch, Golden Rod and Satin Taupe Eyeshadows (PAN)
Mac Tweet Me Eyeshadow (From the Peacocky Collection 2011)
Mac Black Greasepaint Stick
Mac Genuine Treasure Paint Pot
I love these dark bronzey colours!
Mac Reflects Antique Gold Glitter
These reflects glitters are too pretty!
Mac Gold Pigment
This was a must buy for me! Love the metallic look and texture of this pigment.

Mac Lush Light Bronze Pressed Powder (Surf Baby Collection 2011)
This is obviously too light for me to be used as a bronzer but great as an all over powder.
Mac Mocha Lipstick (Permanent)
This lipstick is from the permanent line. I actually lost my original one I have and so I just got it anyways. Again, I did not like the lipstick/lipgloss selection they had had the sale.
Now these dazzling balls are the actual reason for visiting this sale. Yes! Charity Bags!
Each ball was $5.
Then I visited the L'Oreal sale that was near Steeles and Keele. I didn't buy much there either but did buy some sunscreen and Maybelline Fit foundation and powder. I'm not too sure about the colour match but these were $4.50 each.

That's all for now. I'll be posting a few more hauls/looks soon.

Quick FOTD with Viva Glam Nicki Lipstick!

I had planned on not giving into the New Mac Vivaglam Nicki Minaj lipstick. I thought I had similar colours in my pink lipstick stash....but honestly, I DID NOT! =S All of my pink lipsticks were all BLUE TONED. I  had no warm tone pink lipsticks at all. I would describe this new lipstick as a very bright pink with hint of coral tone.
I went over to Sherway Garden's MAC store and went straight to test out the new lipstick. I swatched it on my hands and compared it to Chatterbox lipstick.

It is much brighter than Chatterbox for sure!
I wanted to try on the lipstick at the store and so I did! O-M-G! It was super duper intense bright!
It was HOT!

I thought I wouldn't be able to pull it off...but honestly, I think I did. Or maybe it was the store lights? I probably can pull it off without a liner but liners always make the look complete to me. So I preferred to use Magenta lipliner to blend in the edges...I was quite satisfied with the overall look.  The MUA ladies also liked how it looked on me. The pigmentation is pretty good as it's a satin finish lipstick.

Seriously, these pictures do not capture how pretty this lipstick is in person. =(

It was very hard to capture the true brightness of this lipstick in these pictures. I adore this lipstick and have no regrets buying it. It's GORGEOUS! Do not be intimidated just because it seems so bright. Use a lipliner to tone and blend the edges or even a lipgloss of your choice. :)

Also, this lipstick is limited edition and will be out for a year and the funds go to charity. =D
How AWESOME!

So what do you guys think of this so BRIGHT and GORGEOUS lipstick? Will you be getting it too or already have it?

Tangle Teezer [Review]

I bought the Tangle Teezer a few weeks ago from Sally Beauty Supply Store. I actually did not know much about this product at all. I just wanted a brush to tame my tangles in my hair. So I bought it just like that! It was around $13.50 Cdn.  It's when I came home and I started searching it up that I found out it's quite popular and it's originally from the UK.

I have fine, thin, wavy/curly  hair which has the tendency of getting tangled very easily. I was looking for a magic comb that would take these nasty tangles away without bringing tears to my eyes or having any breakage.
Yes, it is PAIN FREE!
I know it's not recommended to brush wet hair but I think it's not a bad idea to use it in the shower after applying conditioner. It really depends how much your hair sheds. If this brush is too harsh, you can use a wide tooth comb instead.
This product comes in different colours I think. I chose the hot pink one of course! It is a little bulky and I would prefer some sort of handle to grip it better.
Pro:

-Saves time when detangling hair.
-Painless process!
-Light weight tool.
-Can be used on dry or wet hair. Do not continue further use on wet hair if there is breakage.
-Reasonably priced.

Con:
-Should have a handle to better grip the brush since it is wide shaped.

Overall Rating: 5/5
This is a great hair tool and recommend this to everyone who has tangly hair. This would be great for kids who have tangly hair. I would definitely buy my little cousin this for sure. I still see her mom trying to comb her hair and the poor child is just yelling out in pain. Her hair is fine and quite curly almost like Side Show Bob. No Joke! LOL Wish I had a picture of her right now....
Speaking of crazy hair....
Here's an old (bad quality) picture of hair roller experiment gone wrong from 1-2 years ago. I secretly call it Krusty the Clown/Afro Hairstyle. LOL I always laugh at this picture whenever I see it. I used these cheap small hair rollers that really tangled up my hair so badly. It was a DRAG to remove each and every roller. O-M-G! I still rememeber my pregnant Aunt back then just laughing her A$$ off once she saw my hair condition! Good times though! I look mad sleepy as it was 2 AM at night. If only I had this Tangle Teezer to help me with all the crazy knots I had back then.

So will you be getting this Tangle Teezer "magic brush" ?

Other Products I Found at the South Asian Store....[Random Rant!]

Other Products I found at the shop....
 &
Products I wanted to highlight here.....
-Fair & Lovely
-Stillman's Bleach Cream
-Olivia Herbal Bleach Cream

So what are these products suppose to do?
They are suppose to make the skin lighter.
Why would you want to be lighter fair skinned?
Because....
"Being fair skinned" is considered "Beautiful"

This concept is believed in South Asian culture and in other cultures as well. The darker skintones are actually looked down upon. These beliefs have always existed and are still existing today.

Sadly, these products are sold at our local Indian Grocery Stores and worldwide.
These products are still being bought by many women who are trying to achieve "lighter skin" in order to be "beautiful".

Some of these products actually contain bleach and obviously, it is harmful for the skin.

It's not really surprising when you see women layering on foundations that are so many shades lighter than their actual skintone...just so they can be considered "beautiful". It just looks hilarious looking after. Oh you Ghost ladies!

So you may start thinking.....hey what are bronzers for? Haha! This side of  the Western world digs the "tan" look.

Seriously, people should snap out of this type of mentality and appreciate the skintone they have.  I don't think I have ever complained about my skintone and I have always learned to appreciate it too.

Just remember we are all beautiful people!
